Owner Registry coming soon
Coin photographs get lifted. A picture you took of your own coin turns up in somebody else's listing, on a forum, or on a site selling a coin that is not the one in the photograph - and once it has been saved and re-posted, nothing on it says it was ever yours.
CoinScope Pro is adding an answer to that. Every photograph the program shares or uploads for you will carry an invisible owner ID: your registry number, hidden in the picture itself rather than in the file's details, so it is still there after the picture has been saved again, compressed, or resized for a listing or a phone. Nothing on the picture changes that anybody can see.
This page is the other half. Anybody who finds one of your photographs - a buyer, a forum moderator, a site the picture was copied onto - can open it in CoinScope Pro, read the number, and look it up here to see whose it is. No account is needed to look someone up.
What it will and will not do
It shows that a photograph was marked by a registered owner's copy of CoinScope Pro when it left their computer. It cannot say who has the picture now, and it says nothing about the coin itself - not its grade, not whether it is genuine. A cropped picture, or one shrunk to a very small thumbnail, may no longer carry a readable ID; when that happens the program says so rather than guessing. Your original photographs are never marked - only the copies that leave - because the measuring tools read the originals.
Registration opens with the next release. Each owner's number is permanent: it is never reused, so an old photograph can never start naming somebody else.
