CoinScope Pro Beta Tester Agreement

Thank you for offering to test CoinScope Pro before it is finished. Beta versions are how the next release gets built, and your reports shape it. Because a beta is unfinished by definition, taking part comes with a few conditions. Please read them; you will be asked to agree to each one.
1. What the beta is
- Beta versions (numbered 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 and so on, on the way to CoinScope Pro 2.0) are pre-release software. They are given to you to test, not as a finished product.
- They may contain errors, stop working, give wrong results, run slowly, change without notice, or lose features between versions. A beta tool may be removed or rewritten before release.
- Beta versions are sent only to approved beta testers. The regular release stays available to everyone else.
2. Access
- Taking part is by approval. Registering an account and submitting the request does not guarantee a place.
- While you are enrolled, the beta version runs with every tool unlocked, at no charge. This is not a purchased license. When you leave the program, or your place ends, the beta access ends with it; the regular release then works as a trial or with a license you have bought.
- Beta access covers the beta versions, for as long as they are made. Beta versions are numbered 2.0b1, 2.0b2 and so on. While you are enrolled you receive each new beta version. The beta program ends when GenM Software stops making beta versions, or ends the program; beta access ends with it. Beta access is not a license to the finished release. Anyone with a purchased license always gets every update, 2.0 included.
- The beta installer and download links are for you alone. Please do not share, post or redistribute them.
- GenM Software may end the beta program, or your place in it, at any time.
3. Protect your work
- Back up your coin photographs and collection database before installing a beta, and regularly while using one. CoinScope Pro keeps them in your collection folder (Documents\My Collection unless you chose another), and File > Export copies them out.
- Do not rely on a beta for anything where a wrong result would cost you money - buying, selling, grading submissions or insurance. CoinScope Pro does not grade, authenticate or determine metal content in any version, and a beta is less reliable than a release.
4. Monitoring, diagnostics and automatic reports
By joining, you agree that the beta version will automatically collect and send the following to GenM Software, without asking each time:
- Diagnostics and system data: CoinScope Pro version, Windows version, processor, memory, graphics card, screen size and scaling, camera model and resolution, available disk space, and the program's settings.
- Crash reports and error logs: what the program was doing when an error happened, the technical error record, and the program's own log files.
- Screenshots of the CoinScope Pro window only, when an error is detected. Only the CoinScope Pro window is captured - never your whole screen, other programs, or other windows. Because it shows what the program shows, a screenshot may include a coin photograph, a coin's record or collection details that were on screen at that moment.
- Reports you send yourself with Help > Report a Bug, including any screenshot you choose to attach.
What is not collected: files outside CoinScope Pro, your other programs or browsing, passwords, and payment details. Your coin photographs are not uploaded, except as they appear inside a screenshot of the CoinScope Pro window.
How it is used: only to find and fix problems and to improve CoinScope Pro. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except the service providers that store it for GenM Software. Reports are kept for up to 12 months after the beta version they came from, then deleted. You may ask for your reports to be deleted at any time by writing to support@coinscopepro.com.
Turning it off: reporting cannot be switched off inside a beta version, because it is the purpose of the beta. To stop it, leave the beta program (My Account > Beta Program > Leave) and install the regular release.
5. Feedback
Anything you report or suggest may be used to change CoinScope Pro, without payment or credit to you, and belongs to GenM Software once used. Please do not send anything you are not free to share.
6. No warranty
Beta versions are provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied - including any warranty that they will work, be accurate, be fit for a particular purpose, or be free of errors, viruses or data loss.
7. No liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, GenM Software and Jennifer K. Mellen are not liable for any loss or damage arising from a beta version or from taking part in the beta program - including lost or damaged photographs, databases or files; lost time, sales or profit; wrong measurements or results and any decision made on them; damage to hardware; and any indirect, incidental or consequential loss - even if told such loss was possible. Because the beta is provided free, the total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars ($0), or the smallest amount the law permits where zero is not allowed.
You use a beta version at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own backups.
8. Eligibility and ending
- You must be 18 or older and have a coinscopepro.com account.
- You may leave at any time. GenM Software may end your participation, or the program, at any time and for any reason, including misuse or sharing a beta installer.
- Sections 3, 5, 6 and 7 continue to apply after you leave.
9. Changes and law
These terms may be updated for a later beta; you will be asked to agree again before the next beta version installs. They are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
